One of the best times of the year to purchase games has arrived: Black Friday. Although a fairly new tradition in South Africa, this American born annual sales event has become so popular that it is now ‘celebrated’ around the world. Naturally, a lot of technology and gaming companies are getting in on the fun. PlayStation South Africa’s Black Friday sales, for example, started on the 17th of November, 2017. Interestingly enough, this was the same time that the Xbox Black Friday digital game sale began.

For the last two years, I have become weary of purchasing any new games that release from around about September onwards. The main reason for this is Black Friday. Without a doubt, some of the year’s biggest releases are almost always discounted for this annual sales event. Even some of the biggest titles of the year will see discounts within weeks of being launched. Clear examples this year include games such as Destiny 2, Assassins Creed: Origins, Need for Speed: Payback, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and South Park The Fractured But Whole, among many others; all of which have been discounted.

Top 20 Xbox Black Friday Digital Game Sale Picks

The Xbox Black Friday digital game sale is easily one of the best seen this year, with some discounts going all the way “up to 60% off” the regular sales price. The sale runs from the 17th – 27th of November, 2017; so there is plenty of time to browse and pick your favourites. Even better, Xbox Live Gold members get an additional 10% off the already discounted prices.

With so many games on sale, choosing which games to get can be quite a daunting task. With this in mind, I have selected 20 games that, in my opinion, every gamer should absolutely have in their library (this was honestly a tough list to narrow down).

This is by no means a definitive list, and I encourage all gamers to browse the full list of Xbox Black Friday digital game sales that are currently available. You might just find something that you really want, at a great discount.

I have personally already taken advantage of the sale, and recently purchased Assassins Creed: Origins and Finals Fantasy XV. However, I know I will be buying more.

Are there any games in the sale that you reckon are absolute “must have” games? If so, let us know in the comments.
