Rejoice, eager Overwatch fans. Blizzard World is here, and it is a biggie. The update, which was teased a short while ago, brings new emotes, character highlight intros, and skins to the game.

Blizzard Entertainment released the new update on 23 January 2018. Of all the things it adds, the most important by far is that it is here to stay. This update is not tied to a season or a special event. Thus Blizzard World is here for the long haul. It means that casual players will have all the time in the ‘Blizzard World’ to unlock their favourite skins and other add ons. All of which have been injected into the game’s regular lootboxes.

It looks like Blizzard has added 17 new skins to the game, some of which are tied to the Blizzard World map. The map, which is a theme park based on other Blizzard properties, pays particular homage to Diablo, Hearthstone, World of Warcraft, and StarCraft.

The official names for the skins are as follows:

Legendary Skins

  • Blackhand Doomfist
  • Black Cat D.Va
  • Kabuki Hanzi
  • Asp Pharah
  • Capoeira Lucia
  • Ecopoint: Antartica Mei
  • Immortal Orisa
  • Crusader Reinhardt
  • Butcher Roadhog
  • Magni Torbjorn
  • Nova Widowmaker
  • Barbarian Zarya

Epic Skins

  • Caution Junkrat
  • Royal McCree
  • Hellfire Reaper
  • Peacock Symmetra
  • CarbonFibre Zenyatta

In addition to the skins, Blizzard World also adds a bunch of emotes. Characters with new emotes include:

  • Genji
  • Mercy
  • Sombra
  • Tracer
  • Moira

Along with emotes, there are even new Play of the Game Highlight introductions for:

  • Winston
  • Soldier: 76
  • Bastion
  • Ana

The skins and extra emotes perfectly complement the new map, which seems like a lot of fun. The update is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
