Following a successful launch on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One earlier in 2018, Capcom has finally announced that Monster Hunter: World PC is coming!

The PC version of Capcom’s third-person role-playing adventure hit was originally scheduled for a “fall 2018 to early 2019” release window. Now, however, PC fans will get the game way earlier, on 9 August 2018 to be exact. With the Monster Hunter: World PC release date set, Capcom also announced the system requirements… and they look pretty fair.

Capcom states that Monster Hunter: World PC will get all free updates and “collaboration quests” following its release. Previous collaboration quests on console include crossovers with Horizon: Zero Dawn and Street Fighter. Others include special events based on Devil May Cry, with future crossover events that are tied to Final Fantasy XIV. The company says that the order in which these events will occur will be unlike that of the console equivalents (since it has to catch up). As such, Capcom urges its PC fans to keep an eye on their official Twitter page, and the game’s website.

In addition, Capcom confirmed that players who pre-purchase Monster Hunter: World PC via Steam will receive Origin armour and Fair Wind Charm bonus items. Furthermore, players who pre-purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition will net an assortment of customisation items. These items include a unique set of Samurai armour, three new gestures, two sticker sets for online chat, and one new face paint and hairstyle option. Both the Origin armour and Samurai armour sets will give players a head start at the beginning of the game. If it is anything like the pre-purchase sets for console, it will quickly become “dated” and weak by new armour sets in comparison.

Alright, I know I have kept eager PC players waiting long enough for those minimum PC specs. The game recommends, among other things, an Intel Core i3 8350 or a previous generation equivalent. This is reasonable, considering the level of detail I know the game can output. With that said, Capcom notes that the recommended specifications should allow gamers to run the game at “high”. Extreme settings, such as 4K Ultra-high definition textures, high dynamic range, and a smooth 60 frames per second; will require stronger hardware.
