Happy Iron Man 3 day everyone. Today marks the release of the latest blockbuster in Marvel’s highly successful Iron Man movie series.
Iron Man 3 is an action filled romp that features one of our favourite billionaire playboys, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), as he deals with the outcome of the recent The Avengers movie by facing a devious new villain known as The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley). Everyone should be heading to the cinemas to watch Stark kick some butt, but if that is not possible you can always watch the trailer here.
In celebration of the latest Iron Man movie, I decided I would share my most prized Iron Man collectible with all of you.
Below you will find a series of photographs of my personal Iron Man Mark III Silly Thing’s “TK” Edition collectible. This limited edition collectible was produced in very limited numbers in 2008 (sources vary but it is alleged that only 500 – 800 exist worldwide) and was sold exclusively in 2009 at the San Diego Comic-Con.
Truth be told, I was completely unaware of the rarity of this Hot Toys collectible when I purchased it in Japan of 2012. I bought it purely because I simply adore the unique ‘gun-metal’ and ‘battle-damaged’ paint-job as well as the highly detailed craftsmanship that accompanies each Hot Toys collectible. Needless to say, it has become my most prized collectible and I know that it will look great next to these Hot Toys Diecast metal Iron Man figures that I have on pre-order. I hope you enjoy the photographs.
