Apex Legends is one of the most popular battle Royale games in the world, with millions of players across different platforms. The game offers addictively fast gameplay, with diverse characters, and an ever changing battlefield. However, there is one feature many fans have been asking for since the game’s launch: Apex Legends cross progression.

Cross progression is the ability to transfer account data, such as a player’s level, cosmetics, unlocks, and stats, from one platform to another. For example, if someone plays Apex Legends on Xbox Series consoles and then switches to PC, they would naturally want to keep their progress and items on both devices. This way, gamers can enjoy the game on multiple platforms without having to start from scratch or miss out on exclusive rewards.

The good news for gamers is the wait is finally over! Apex Legends cross progression is finally arriving with the launch of Apex Legends: Ignite (Season 19). Long gone are the days of having multiple accounts on differing platforms, each of which may have certain unique items and collectibles. The time for ‘one account to rule them all’ has arrived, and it should, no doubt, reinvigorate even more fans to play the game.

Respawn Entertainment have long been aware of the demand for Apex Legends cross progression, and have stated, multiple times, how they are working on it. The long wait has primarily been because of the complexities around implementing the feature in a way to avoid any issues or ‘losses’ occurring from account and database merging (not to mention navigating the legalities of each respective platform). In this sense, the developers have made it clear how the ‘highest level account’ will become the default account for players, with lower level accounts merging into the higher level account. Thereafter, a single account can be used across a variety of platforms.

Apex Legends cross progression is a highly anticipated feature for the title, as it enhances the game’s accessibility and convenience. It allows players to enjoy the game on their preferred platform – without losing their progress or items – whilst making it easier for players to play with their friends across different devices – or finally being able to switch to a new device without losing previously purchased progress/items/cosmetics etc. Simply put: it is a welcome change that fans absolutely deserve.

Hopefully, the release of Apex Legends cross progression with Season 19 goes smoothly, as Respawn Entertainment continue to do what they can to make the game even more enjoyable for fans.
