The end of the decade is upon us! Given how 2020 nears and Christmas is fast approaching, many of us will be seeking sweet deals on games for our loved ones, and ourselves. GOG, the storefront owned by CD Projekt RED, has commenced the GOG Winter Sale 2019 with more than 2 500 discounts throughout the entire store, and they have added an extra giveaway to boot.

As a way to celebrate the start of the GOG Winter Sale 2019, GOG is giving away free copies of Wasteland 2 Director’s Cut for the first two days! Wasteland 2, which has been developed by inXile Entertainment, is a wonderful spiritual successor to the original 2D-isometric Fallout games, and the sequel to the critically acclaimed Wasteland.

In the game you have to make your mark or die trying, for that is the way of the hellish landscape. The game boasts over 80 hours of gameplay where you can deck out your Desert Ranger squad with the most devastating weaponry. It is a brutal strategy title that will test the limits of your skills. The Director’s Cut includes hours of re-recorded and fixed dialogue, a complete graphical overhaul, precision strikes, and a new perks & quirks weaponry system. It truly is a great game, and can be found on practically any gaming system.

Beyond the great giveaway, the GOG Winter Sale 2019 offers a lot to look forward to! There are seemingly countless deals to peruse, and I have highlighted several deals below:

The Ultimate RED Collection

The Ultimate RED Collection is for all intents and purposes a massive collection of pretty much all CD Projekt RED titles, including Cyberpunk 2077. It is essentially a huge pre-order bonus of Cyberpunk 2077, while also getting all the Witcher games available. The titles in the collection include The Witcher, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales. This collection costs $87.77 USD or your local equivalent – a massive deal if you ask me!

Paradox Strategy Bundle

The Paradox Strategy Bundle brings the ultimate Paradox fan a lot of joy! The game includes a spate of great games from Paradox at wonderful discount rates. The best part about this bundle is that you can pick and choose the titles you want! These titles include Age of Wonders: Planetfall (-33%), Imperator: Rome (-33%), Surviving Mars (-66%), BATTLETECH (-66%), and Stellaris (-75%).

2019 Indie Gems Bundle

Indie games are a dime a dozen. As such, it can become quite the chore to find the perfect one for you. GOG knows this, and created a bundle with the best indie gems on their storefront. The bundle you to purchase all items or only those that tickle your fancy. GOG says all bundle purchases with 5 titles or more will get an additional 25% discount on top of the game’s individual discounted prices! The games in this bundle are: Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (-25%), Dawn of Man (-25%), Deliver us the Moon (-20%), Foundation (-20%), Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones (-20%), Indivisible (-20%), Pathway (-40%), Druidstone: The Secret of the Menhir Forest (-60%), and way more. Trust me, you will find something you like here.

Besides the cool bundles above, there are literally thousands more games on sale. If you want in on the action, GOG will be giving away more free goodies to users who buy stuff throughout the GOG Winter Sale. Furthermore, GOG is also bringing back the GOG Connect feature this holiday season. GOG Connect is a neat little feature where gamers who own certain games on other platforms, can register for GOG and get digital rights management (DRM)-free copies on GOG.com! The first wave of games to allow this feature are: DUSK, Age of Wonders: Planetfall, Through the Ages, and Galaxy Trucker

Will you be snapping up a couple of deals from GOG this holiday? We know we will (and probably never get to those games thanks to our huge backlog of reviews). Either way, the sale will be running until 2 January 2020, so there is plenty of time to get those games done!
