Cyberpunk 2077 has become one of the most immersive and captivating games of the decade, and its music is a big part of its appeal. The game’s soundtrack features a variety of genres and styles, from synthwave and rap, through to metal and ambient, each tone reflecting the diversity and complexity of Night City and its inhabitants. Now fans of the game can enjoy a new musical experience with the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty soundtrack, part of the upcoming expansion to the main game, which includes a new district and adventure, and so much more.

Phantom Liberty is set in Dogtown, a dangerous and action-packed area of Night City home to gangs, mercenaries, and spies. The expansion introduces a spy-thriller story featuring Idris Alba as Solomon Reed, and once again puts players in the role of V, a cyber-enhanced mercenary who gets involved in a conspiracy that could shake the foundations of the city. To accompany this new story, CD PROJEKT RED has collaborated with Milan Records to create a new score capturing the mood and atmosphere of Phantom Liberty.

The score for the Phantom Liberty soundtrack was composed by P.T. Adamczyk (Cyberpunk 2077, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners) and Jacek Paciorkowski (Seven: The Days Long Gone), who have crafted 15 tracks taking listeners on a nearly hour-long journey. The tracks are now available worldwide on all popular music streaming platforms, such as Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer, and many others. The album is an opportunity to get to know the world of Phantom Liberty before its release by introducing listeners to the atmosphere of Dogtown and immersing them in the story created by CD PROJEKT RED.

“I loved being able to come back to Night City, but I loved creating a completely new score based on a new adventure, in this unique, dark-future location of the most dangerous district of Night City even more!” says Senior Composer at CD PROJEKT RED, P.T. Adamczyk. “We use more than just visual design and story to create the mood of our games; we also put an emphasis on music. Everything has to work together to create one coherent image. This time, we had the fun challenge of working in a completely new territory, a spy-thriller story, the effect of which Jacek Paciorkowski and I are very proud of. In addition to the Phantom Liberty soundtrack, CD PROJEKT RED has also announced Update 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077, a free addition with many new changes to the game including three new radio stations, which add more variety and flavour to the game’s musical landscape. The new included stations are:

  • 89.7 GROWL FM, comprising tunes from winners of a community competition that invited fans to submit their own songs inspired by Cyberpunk 2077.
  • 107.5 DARKSTAR RADIO, including two tracks by Idris Elba, who plays secret agent Solomon Reed in Phantom Liberty. Elba is not only an actor, but also a musician and DJ who has released several albums and singles under his own name and various aliases.
  • 99.9 IMPULSE RADIO, containing an over hour-long DJ set by Idris Elba and featuring the Polish duo Private Press, who are known for their techno and house music.

Phantom Liberty is the second major expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, following The Badlands, which was released in June 2023 and added a new area outside Night City with new quests, characters, weapons, vehicles, and more.

Phantom Liberty will be released on September 26th for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It will be free for all players who own Cyberpunk 2077.
