Halloween is quickly approaching which means that it will soon be time to dress up as a character of your choice and, if you live in the USA, beg for candy at neighbouring homes or, if you live elsewhere, visit an appropriately themed party. For the less adventurous, you could simply adorn your mobile phone or tablet with some halloween themed art.
The featured illustrations in this post come by way of artist John Karpinsky and were actually inspired by Día de los Muertos, which is the Mexican ‘Day of the Dead’ that celebrates the lives of recently deceased family members.
Karpinsky’s work is beautiful in the way that it melds the gorgeous style of Mexican folk art with the Western cultural phenomenon that is the Star Wars film franchise. My personal favourites are Darth Vader and C-3PO. Which do you like best?
