Bethesda’s massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Elder Scrolls Online is getting a new update called Dragon Bones, which adds more dungeons, equipment and a scary new enemy.

The brand new downloadable content (DLC) expansion for the popular MMORPG will put your life on the line to face a giant skeletal dragon. Behind the dragon is an evil Dragon Priest bound to bring death and destruction to the overworld. It is up to you to stop him from releasing a terrible plague on the denizens of Tamriel!

In total, the DLC adds two more dungeons to the game: Fang Lair and Scalecaller Peak.

Fang Lair

The Lair was once a large Dwemer mine. Their glory, however, was short lived courtesy of the Dragon Thurvokun many centuries before. Thurvokun used the Dwarven halls as its lair for a number of years — so much so, that the name of the mine has been lost and is simply known as Fang Lair now.

Thurvokun has since died, but his great power remains in the Dwemer halls. Adventurers from all corners of Tamriel have sought to plumb the depths of the Lair, but have always been met with ruin. Now, a powerful necromancer called Orryn the Black, and his followers, have come to enact a ritual that will raise the ancient Dragon and unleash the undead menace upon Nirn.

Scalecaller Peak

In ancient times, Scalecaller Peak was home to Zaan, an ancient Dragon Priest dedicated to the dragon Thurvukun. While alive, she had an immense power, and her reign seemed unchecked. She was eventually betrayed by her followers, which severed the link between her and Thurvukun. Her cult spread to the winds to avoid persecution, but still maintained vigil for their fallen lord.

Now, the time has come, and the descendants of the cult of have the means to bring the ancient Dragon Priest back to life, as well as plans to decimate the world with a new plague.

Furthermore, along with Dragon Bones, update 17 will bring some free enhancements to the game. Improvements include better rewards for those who play with others, two new battlegrounds, a home storage system, and the ability to make adjustments to every part of your character’s appearance. It also includes a new “skills advisor” which makes sure your character is following the right track for the role you want to play.

The 2.8 GB update (which includes Dragon Bones) is available now for Microsoft Windows and MacOS. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will have to wait until 27 February 2018 for the update.

Elder Scrolls Online ESO Plus members get Dragon Bones free, while others will have to pay 15000 crowns at the Crown Store in-game.
