Petrolheads rejoice! The Forza Horizon 3 Demo, of Microsoft’s upcoming open-world racing simulator, is now available to play on Xbox One. After a slightly premature start, appearing on the Xbox Store briefly last week, the demo is now available to all.

Microsoft announced that the Forza Horizon 3 demo is available right now on the Xbox Live Marketplace. At the moment it is only playable on Xbox One , but the company has stated that it will be available on PC at a later date.

In the demo, fans can have their first go at being the boss of the Horizon Festival. As such it allows fans to explore a small portion of the game’s map whilst showcasing the game’s hottest features.

Microsoft says that the Horizon Festival is the “biggest and best music festival in the world”. The new game puts you, the player, in the shoes of the event organiser. As such, you are tasked with leading and planning the festival, and expanding it throughout Australia. ‘The land down under’ is the main setting for Forza Horizon 3… and it looks absolutely gorgeous!

Microsoft also mentions that the Forza Horizon 3 demo will feature differing locales, such as ocean-side roads and beach races. Players will also be able to race right along the famous Twelve Apostle landmarks in Victoria, Australia. The demo not only allows gamers to sample the single player experience, but it also features a brief online segment. Together with friends, players can roam freely in an online version of the same locales in the singleplayer experience.

The Forza Horizon 3 Demo is available now on Xbox One. The game, on the other hand, will release globally on 27 September 2016. The game is an Xbox Play Anywhere title, as such it will be available for Xbox One as well as Windows 10.
