Thank you to everyone who took the time to enter our Win With Vamers Deadpool Movie Edition competition; which celebrated the nationwide release of Deadpool (2016) through a giveaway featuring Deadpool merchandise from Vamers Store.

We received a wonderful variety of delicious and highly interesting answers, each of which was infinitely more interesting than this Deadpool Pizza. The submitted answers provided the following insights:

  • A majority of responses indicated that a chimichanga absolutely must be made with oodles of cheese, chilli and beans. These three ingredients were nearly ubiquitous amongst submitted answers.
  • Worryingly, many also felt that their chimichanga would not be complete without the blood of their enemies and oppressors or even that of the Hulk and Spider-Man. This creative vampirism was rather amusing.
  • Other surprising ingredients included car parts, Thor’s hair and even the legendary Barry White. The creativity in this competition was fantastic, and cannot be faulted.

Due to the high quality and large amount of entries, we used Random.org to select three possible winners. Thereafter, drool worthy deliberations took place amongst the Vamers Crew. After a short time, a unanimous decision was reached and the FRANCIS MUST DIE chimichanga was declared as the winning recipe. We liked it so much, that we decided to actually make and eat it (hence the long delay in announcing a winner)! FULL RECIPE AVAILABLE HERE!

Alicia’s recipe was easily one of the most creative received, and a special mention must be made regarding the name of her chimichanga: FRANCIS MUST DIE.

Commemorating one of the funniest scenes in Deadpool (2016), the ingredients in Alicia’s recipe actually spell out FRANCIS MUST DIE when listed and read vertically. Her answer is included below:

  • FRANCIS-MUST-DIE Chimichanga (The first letter of each ingredient spells out “FRANCIS-MUST-DIE” if you read it diagonally. That’s just genius!)
    • Flour tortillas, warmed (x12)
    • Refried beans (x1 can)
    • Avocado (x1)
    • Nachos (Cause everything is better with nachos!)
    • Cumin (1/2 teaspoon and remember to always swallow!)
    • Ice cream (1 scoop, cause why the hell not!)
    • Shredded cheddar cheese (1-1/2 cups)
    • Meat (Every kind of meat you can think of!)
    • Unsalted butter (2 tablespoons)
    • Sour cream (¼ cup)
    • Tomato sauce, divided (3 cans)
    • Diced jalapeno pepper (1 pepper)
    • Imp (x1 Cause I can’t find anything else starting with an “i”)
    • Extra Virgin Olive Oil (2 tablespoons, yes always choose virgin)

The Win With Vamers ‘Deadpool Movie Edition’ competition closes at 16:30 on Thursday the 31st of March 2016. The person who provides the best submission, as judged by the Vamers staff, and who follows the competition instructions properly will be declared the winner of this competition. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The winner will be announced at Vamers discretion after the competition closes. Vamers will endeavour to deliver the prize within 2-8 weeks as described, however, cannot accept responsibility if the prize differs from advertisement in presentation or value. This competition is only open to residents of South Africa. Entrants under 18 years of age must seek permission from a parent or guardian before entering this competition. Entrants must be over 16 years of age or have parental consent to enter this competition. The main prize consists of: one (1) Hot Toys Deadpool Cosbaby figurine, one (1) copy of Marvel’s Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe Graphic Novel Paperback and one (1) Marvel Comics inspired Deadpool Belt-Buckle. There is no cash or prize alternative and all prizes are non-transferable. Only one grand prize winner per competition unless otherwise specified.
