UPDATE: In less than three weeks, entries to the Mortal Kombat X Cup have completely filled up.

Starting on Saturday the 9th of May 2015, Sterkinekor Entertainment will play host to the South African leg of the Mortal Kombat Cup. 

The Mortal Kombat Cup will have four qualifiers across South Africa. The first will take place in Gauteng (9th May 2015), followed by a second in Kwa-Zulu Natal (16 May 2015), with a third in the Western Cape (23rd May 2015), and a final fourth qualifier in Gauteng (30th May 2015).

The winner of each qualifier will be given an all-expenses paid trip (only if they live outside of Gauteng) to the national finals as well as a copy of the Mortal Kombal Kollecctor’s Edition for Sony PlayStation 4.

The South African final of the Mortal Kombat Cup will take place in Gauteng on the 6th of June 2015 whereby the top 16 national qualifying competitors will battle it for first place.

The South African Mortal Kombat Cup prizes are as follows:

  • 1st Place: a R15 000 cash prize and a PlayStation 4 20th Anniversary Console.
  • 2nd Place: a R10 000 cash prize and a Mortal Kombat X branded PlayStation 4 console.
  • 3rd Prize: a R5 000 cash prize.

In addition to the above, the first place South African winner will qualify for a seat in the Grand Mortal Kombat Cup Finale, which takes place in France!
