If you attended rAge (Really Awesome Gaming Event) this past weekend in Johannesburg, you would have had an opportunity to play the newest spin-off of the Forza Motorsport brand at Microsoft South Africa’s phenomenal gaming booth. If you could not attend, fear not, for the exact same demo is now available on Xbox Live.

The demo allows players to experience the fictitious Horizon Festival by offering a variety of events that allow for the adequate exploration of an open-world that is set in the state of Colorado, USA. The most interesting aspect of Forza Horizon is the fact that it takes place in an open-world environment that allows players to drive as far as the eye can see – a welcome departure for the series. Events in the Horizon Festival are said to range from dusty dirt roads to climactic street races.

If you plan to purchase Forza Horizon when it releases, you should also consider downloading the demo. Players who do will receive the gorgeous and specially designed 2013 SRT Viper GTS to commemorate Forza Horizon having “gone-gold”. Please note that this unique car will only be available to those who download the demo, then purchase and play the game online (an Xbox LIVE Gold account is required).

Forza Horizon, the latest iteration of the Forza Motorsport brand from Microsoft, Playground Games, and Turn 10 Studios, officially releases on Friday 26th October 2012 for a suggested retail price of R599.

What are you waiting for? Head to Xbox Live and burn some digital rubber!
